Here in the WasteMINZ office we are very much looking forward to our annual conference, which will be held in Hamilton on 17 to 19 October.

This year’s theme is challenge, change and collaboration and even at this early stage the programme is looking exciting. There’s been a steady inflow of high quality ideas for papers from both New Zealand and overseas and we’re working to make sure we have a good range of high quality, engaging speakers.

Events like our conference are extremely expensive to run and we have to delicately balance commercial viability with the need to make it an affordable undertaking for our members. Sponsorship plays a vital role in ensuring we can continue to deliver high quality events which add real value for the industry. It is with this in mind that I would like to recognise and announce our Platinum Sponsors for this year’s conference. They are:

  • Smart Environmental, and
  • The Glass Packaging Forum

Grahame Christian, Managing Director of Smart Environmental and John Webber, General Manager of the Glass Packaging Forum have always been strong supporters of WasteMINZ and the valuable work we do for the industry; this year their support has taken a huge leap forward by becoming the cornerstone sponsors of our conference.

This is a major commitment from both organisations and it is indicative of their passion for our industry and their desire to see it progress in a positive manner. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to both Grahame and John for their support.

A limited number of sponsorship and trade site packages are still available for our conference, so if you want to put your organisation in front of the movers and shakers of our industry, be sure to contact Carole Inglis.
