Dunedin City Council has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Civil or Environmental Engineer to join the Solid Waste team. This is an opportunity for you to be part of shaping the future of solid waste management for Dunedin.
You will be responsible for developing asset management plans for solid waste assets, and the technical advisor looked to for guidance on what is industry good practice for solid waste activities. A focus of your role will include overseeing landfill construction managing the gas and leachate collection systems. You will work with the team in developing a Master Plan for the Green Island site, which considers landfill closure and future use of the site.
You will have a Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, with at least 10 years post qualification experience – ideally 5 years of which will be in solid waste related activities. Membership of a recognised engineering or construction industry institution would be advantageous.
