WasteMINZ invites you to join us at the 20th anniversary of the Annual WasteMINZ Conference in Blenheim.

This year promises to be a telling one for waste management - major legislation for our industry, challenges to move down different paths, new participants in the industry - it's a whole new ball game.

Don't miss this opportunity to learn about new technology, management skills and current issues which are facing us all.

Over 450 representatives from central and local government, waste management specialists, engineers, planners and politicians, consultants, recyclers, educators and researchers, composters, disposal facility operators and designers, industry, equipment manufacturers and suppliers, waste collection and recycling contractors, environmentalists and community groups will attend.

The Expo is a key feature of Conference 2008 and exhibitors should not miss this opportunity to meet with decisions markers from both private and government sectors.
Over 450 delegates will view your stand and the resulting business, plus being able to catch up with  your current customers is well worth the investment of your time and money.

The conference is organized with our exhibitors in mind and provides every opportunity for you to network and sell your products in both formal and informal situations.

The conference opening is held in the Expo on Wednesday night 5 November 2008 when there is two hours for attendees and exhibitors to mix and mingle and  thereafter during the conference two breakfasts, morning and afternoon teas and lunches are all provided in the Expo area.

ABSTRACTS

SUBMISSION DATE : FRIDAY 27 JUNE 2008

You are welcome to submit more than one abstract.
You can complete the abstract submission form online or email to info@wasteminz.org.nz for a copy.

Presenting authors must be registrants for the full conference or at least be registered for the day of presentation.

Authors must register and pay for their own conference attendance/registration and are responsible for their own expenses.

Advice of Acceptance will be emailed to you no later than end July 2008.

TIMELINE

  • Friday 27 June 2008 : submit your abstract
  • Friday 19 September 2008 : submit paper for judging
  • Friday 3 October 2008 : provide a PDF of your paper for publication on WasteMINZ website
  • Friday 10 October 2008 : provide your powerpoint presentation by email or on a CD or flashdrive

PUBLICATION OF PAPERS

Papers chosen for presentation at the WasteMINZ Conference must be emailed in PDF format to WasteMINZ no later than Friday 3 October 2008. Manuscripts will be published on the WasteMINZ website one week after the conference.


VENUE + ACCOMMODATION

The conference venue is centrally located in Blenheim, in the heart of Marlborough's wine growing region. Just minutes walk from the city centre, one kilometre from the Blenheim Railway Station. The inter-island ferry terminal at Picton is 20 minutes drive from the hotel.

A range of accommodation has been secured in Blenheim and facilities to make bookings are available now.

SOCIAL EVENTS

WasteMINZ is renowned for its social evenings - this year you'll join us in celebrating the opening of the Conference & Expo on Wednesday 5 November, followed by the informal dinner at Brancott and Drylands vineyards. Our formal dinner will be held onsite at the Marlborough Convention Centre on Thursday 6 November. As always there will be a superb selection of wines and beers from the region along with delicious food and entertainment.
