The WasteMINZ 2009 Conference is being held in October and the Waste Minimisation Act (“WMA”) will have been in place just three short months, refocusing the New Zealand waste landscape from that of waste management to a waste minimisation environment.
This is not a new focus for New Zealand; however, the new legislative framework means that many players in the waste space need to rethink their waste strategies and perhaps develop new collaborative business models. The WMA provides the framework for a refocusing on the full life-cycle of waste – for which we all need to ‘play our part’.
The conference delivers another great line up including:
Plenary Sessions
- The Waste Minimisation Act – Where are we at?
- Motivational Speakers
Technical Sessions
- Landfill
- Contaminated Land
- Carbon & Emissions Trading
- Construction & Demolition Waste
Special Interest Sessions
- Behaviour Change
- Health & Safety
- NZ Waste Models
- Organics
Site Tours
- Kate Valley
- Contaminated Land
- Resourceful Recycling
Plus workshops and discussions on a number of other interesting and relevant topics.
The Conference Programme and Registration form will be posted online soon.
