Hamilton City Council is looking for an experienced professional to join the City Waters team to provide Contract Management expertise to manage Hamilton’s rubbish and recycling services. They are in an exciting period of change, transforming the way they do rubbish and recycling in the city as they transition from bags to bins.

Reporting to the Compliance Manager, the key purpose of this role is to manage the rubbish and recycling contracts to ensure compliance is met with all the contracted terms and conditions.

As the Contract Manager, your key activities will include:

  • Managing all rubbish and recycling contracts for the city, ensuring they meet the needs of the Council.
  • Provide management and expertise during the transitional phase from old contracts to new.
  • Manage and report on key performance indicators for the contract.
  • Provide monthly reporting and forecasting of expenditure against budget.
  • Ensure all significant contract variations are escalated at the earliest opportunity.

To be successful in this role, you will have extensive contract management/procurement experience, working in medium to large organisations. A relevant tertiary qualification is preferred, but not essential.

They need someone who is confident and has strong negotiation skills. Proven financial management skills are also required, along with being decisive and having the ability to establish strong working relationships at all levels in an organisation.

The recruiting range for this role starts at $87,300 per annum, and could be negotiated for the right candidate.
