Manager – Waste Minimisation

In this newly created position, you will not only have the opportunity to make it your own, you will also influence outcomes across the Waste Minimisation Team. Actively using your leadership skills and contract management experience you will help to develop new waste minimisation initiatives for the Waitomo District. Your actions will have a lasting impact on our District’s environment.

Our Waste Minimisation team is responsible for managing various facilities and programme delivery across the District, such as kerbside collections and recycling, Rural Transfer Stations and the Waitomo District Landfill.
You will be challenged to look for ways we can reduce what waste goes into the Landfill while promoting the right thing for our environment.

Working closely with the General Manager – Infrastructure Services you will develop, implement and continually improve Waitomo District Council’s Solid Waste Management and Minimisation Plan (SWaMMP).

You will have a customer focused approach, a can-do attitude and great attention to detail. You will be an effective communicator with sound contract/project management skills.

The Waitomo District offers a relaxed lifestyle, centrally located in the North Island. Based in Te Kuiti, your office will be just one hour from major cities, lakes and beaches.
