The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Waste Management Institute New Zealand Inc, was held at 4.30pm, 19 October 2020.  Nineteen members were present in Auckland and the meeting was also livestreamed. The meeting heard from Chair Wayne Plummer, and CEO Janine Brinsdon as to the key achievements and financial performance for the period 1 July 2019 – 30 June 2020. Recognition was given to retiring Board member Simonne Eldridge, who was granted Life Membership to WasteMINZ in recognition of her meritorious service to the organisation, in particular, her significant contribution to advancing waste minimisation and management, and disposal to land issues.

Wayne Plummer announced the results of the board elections. 8 candidates were vying for 3 spots with 1049 votes cast. Those elected to the Board were Parul Sood (re-elected), David Howie and Todd McLeay.
