Current Projects include:
Rethinking Rubbish and Recycling: national bin audits were undertaken in 2019 to understand household packaging collected through kerbside rubbish and recycling bins. Online research into household recycling behaviour was carried out in 2020 and 2021. A behaviour change campaign to reduce contamination in recycling, with a focus on how to present recycling, is being launched in October 2021.
Plastic Free July Aotearoa: Since 2019 the TAO Forum has helped fund and support the Plastic Free July campaign to reduce the use of single use plastics.
The TAO Forum released the Local Government Waste Management Manifesto in 2018 and updated it in 2020. The 2020 manifesto can be viewed here, and the 2018 manifesto can be viewed here.
The TAO Forum funded and runs The Love Food Hate Waste New Zealand Campaign
The TAO Forum agreed to standardising the colours of mobile waste containers.
