Thank you to everyone who  participated in the Board elections.

Congratulations to the three Board members who were elected in 2022. The 2022 AGM minutes are available here

Dave Bull

Director

HAIL Environmental

Dave is a director of HAIL Environmental, a site contamination specialist consultancy, and of Maunga Teitei Development, a land development company. He has been a WasteMINZ member since around 2005 and a member of the Institute of Directors since 2016.  Dave says he appreciates what WasteMINZ can do for all of us, in terms of advocacy, guidance, training and action as the Natural and Built Environment Act develops, climate change kicks in, urban (re)development picks up pace, and as the spotlights go on unsustainable practices, unregulated professionals, and unresponsiveness to Māori.

Paul Evans

Chair

Localised

Many of you will know Paul from his seven years as chief executive of WasteMINZ, a time when Paul believes WasteMINZ made significant progress. Since leaving WasteMINZ, Paul has worked closely with government and industry as chief executive of an engineering organisation. Most recently, he has transitioned to being a governance professional. Paul is a chartered director and sits on several boards in environmental, sustainability and emissions reduction spaces.  Paul has well-established knowledge and connections throughout government and industry and clearly understands the need for a strong and vibrant WasteMINZ that reflects its members and supports their aspirations. Paul also appreciates the board’s role and how critical good governance is.

Parul Sood

General Manager Waste Solutions

Auckland Council

This is Parul's third term on the WasteMINZ Board. Parul is an experienced public service leader, working with Auckland Council’s diverse and passionate Waste Solutions team since 2010. She has also held senior strategic and operational roles with the former Waitakere City and Rodney District Councils. Parul has a master’s degree in Environmental Science and a Diploma in Environmental Law.  Parul has been actively involved in the WasteMINZ’s TAO Forum as Chair and as board champion. The forum was established to create consistency and efficiency of service amongst territorial authorities by sharing knowledge and best practice.
