We would like to invite you to a presentation and discussion by the Climate Change Commission. The Commission is responsible for delivering to the Government ongoing advice to Government on what the country needs to do to transition to a low emissions and climate-resilient society and economy.
They are currently working to understand what the opportunities and barriers are to the transition. They
also want to understand what impacts some of their early thinking might have on the waste, resource recovery and contaminated land management sectors.
The draft advice will be published on 1 February 2020, and will be uploaded to the WasteMINZ website. The Commission will be consulting to hear your views through until 14 March. Final advice is due to Government by 31 May 2020.
At this session, the Commission will give an overview of their work, before focusing on insights and recommendations for the waste sector.
The purpose of the session is to help you navigate the specific information you may be looking for, and you will have the opportunity to ask questions.
This will not be the only chance to engage with the Commission during consultation. WasteMINZ will hold further sessions later in February specifically for our members.
