The Contaminated Site Safety Certificate (CSSC) course has been designed in partnership with WasteMINZ and ALGA to enable employers to meet their duties as a PCBU for personnel who engage in works on contaminated sites: specifically, clause 36(3)(f) of the Act, the requirements of regulation 9 and 17(2) of the Health and Safety at Work (General Risk and Workplace Management) Regulations 2016, and regulation 4.5 of the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017.
The aim of the course is to train learners to look for, recognise and safely control for hazards and risk on contaminated sites. People credited with this certificate have the knowledge to operate safely on a contaminated site.
You can claim 15 CPD points by attending this course the first time. There are plans to develop an annual refresher for this course; the content and available CPD points have yet to be determined.
Trainee must already be inducted in employer procedures and be a member of WasteMINZ or ALGA.
