In this member spotlight, we talk to Sarah Nicholls, General Manager at Zero Waste Tāmaki Makaurau
The Zero Waste Tāmaki Makaurau Trust (ZWTM) is dedicated to making zero waste in Auckland by 2040 achievable through a collaborative, accessible community Resource Recovery Network (RRN).
As the organising force behind Auckland's network of Community Recycling Centres (CRCs) we strengthen connections, unlock opportunities, and build the systems needed to turn local action into regional impact.
Why did you want to join WasteMINZ?
It was important for Zero Waste Tāmaki Makaurau Trust (ZWTM) to be part of NZ’s key waste industry body. I have previously (in my previous role) been involved in both the yearly conference and as part of a sector group.
What topic/issue are you most passionate about when it comes to waste, resource recovery or contaminated land?
At ZWTM we are dedicated to zero waste and promoting a circular economy. We are focused on resource recovery across Tāmaki Makaurau.
What are you reading or listening to right now?
An election year always makes for exciting times so I will listen to any political podcast.
Describe your perfect day outside of work
Enjoying the sun and beach with my 11 year old daughter.
