Greenwaste to Zero will accept compostable serviceware including but not limited to coffee cups. All ‘compostable packaging’ needs to be certified under the European Standard EN13432 or the Australian Standard AS4736.
Greenwaste to Zero is not able to accept:
food waste
animal waste
fats and oils
packaging that is contaminated with human bio-solids such as disposable nappies.
Greenwaste to Zero reserve the right to reject any packaging that is presented as ‘compostable packaging’, even if certified under these standards, if found to be detrimental in any way to the Greenwaste to Zero composting methods, or to Greenwaste to Zero compost products.
Fundamental to the success of composting appropriate serviceware is the issue of contamination. Greenwaste to Zero have a zero tolerance of contamination. Contamination such as plastics significantly compromises the quality of our compost product. If Greenwaste to Zero receives contaminated material it will be diverted to landfill – and the cost of landfilling will be charged.
