Join us in this session to hear how Mutu and Tauranga City Council partnered to run a year long pilot to reduce construction waste to landfill.
With construction and demolition activities accounting for 50% of the waste that is sent to landfill in Aotearoa Mutu is on a mission to help reduce this problem. In June 2024, Mutu partnered with the team at Tauranga City Council (TCC) to run a year long pilot that would allow 8 contractors to use the Mutu app to identify, list, reuse on any surplus materials across their projects and then report on the outcome. This webinar will be presented in 2 parts: firstly some background on Mutu, how the app is used by contractors to redirect materials and how the reporting on Mutu is helping contractors track their reuse. Secondly, TCC will present on the impact Mutu had across the Tauranga region during the pilot and the lessons that were learnt from the partnership.
