28 Aug: Proposed changes to WasteMINZ Rules - Q & A session

Thursday, 28 August, 11am-12pm

Open to WasteMINZ members only

Over the past eight months, WasteMINZ has been working to update its Rules, to comply with the requirements of the Incorporated Societies Act 2022 (the “Act”).

The new Act means that all 24,000 incorporated societies in New Zealand must update their constitutions so they comply with, and then can reregister under, this new Act by April 2026. We have also used this opportunity to make some practical updates.

These proposed updates need to be approved by a two-thirds majority of members who are present and entitled to vote at a special meeting.

Before this special meeting is held, WasteMINZ is giving all members an opportunity to ask questions about the proposed updates. If you would like to attend this online meeting, please fill out the form below. The Q&A session will take place on Teams, and we will send you a Teams invite prior to the session.

Once the Q & A session has taken place, a special online meeting will be set up for the updates to be approved.

Documents:
  • Draft Rules (which will be referred to as a Constitution going forward)
  • Memorandum from WasteMINZ’s lawyers, explaining the key proposed updates.

Event details:

Where: Online via Teams (you will be sent a Teams invitation closer to the time).

When: Thursday, 28 August, 11am-12pm.
