Calling all compost aficionados!
3-9 May 2026 is International Compost Awareness Week and as part of our celebration of all things compost we want to hear how you celebrate compost at your school or in your community. Do you collect food scraps in a school compost bin? Do you use compost in your school garden? Enter and tell us all about it*.
Competition entry is open to all New Zealand schools from preschool to high school (and home school hubs). Take a photo, make a video or design a poster and share it with us through our online entry form. One entry per school and all entries will go into the draw to win one of three $100 gift cards kindly donated by MITRE10*. That way you can buy just what you need for your school to continue with your composting efforts!
Get cracking (or gardening) - entries close at midnight on Friday 29th May.
*terms and conditions apply - see below for more details.
